ARCHWAY CAMPUS: LET’S GET THIS RIGHT!
The Archway Campus proposal WAS rejected by Islington Planning on 14 separate planning grounds. called in by Mayor KHAN IN 2025 A CONSULTATION IS NOW OPEN ON A ‘REVISED’ PROPOSAL.
This is a brutal and excessive development at the very spot where Dick Whittington turned around to become one of London’s great mayors. Is this the legacy Mayor Khan will leave behind in North London?

The Backstory…
SevenCapital wants to cram Archway Campus with massive housing blocks and a 27 storey tower. We think the site should be developed more sensitively, conserving the unique community, history, and buildings.
If it goes through, the plan will see the demolition of historic buildings, large blocks all the way up Highgate Hill, and a massive student tower block that provides no affordable homes for families or residents.
They want to cram 242 PREMIUM STUDENT FLATS into expensive tower block units and only 39 affordable units. THIS IS A HIDEOUS REDUCTION FROM THE MERE 91 AFFORDABLE HOMES IN THE ORIGINAL PROPOSAL.
London needs new genuinely affordable housing for families and key workers. The current plans don’t comply with Islington’s own planning policies, prioritise overseas students, and will cause substantial harm to the local area. Does SevenCapital even have the financial capacity to take on a project of this scale?
How is the local area going to cope with the strain of more than 1,000 new residents? Local services are already overburdened and with a significant part of the site being given to overseas students, who don’t pay council tax, these plans make this worse.
