SevenCapital wants to cram Archway Campus with massive housing blocks and a 36 storey tower. We think the site should be developed more sensitively, conserving the unique history and buildings.

The current proposal would see the removal of a historic building, large blocks pushed right up to the Northern Border, and building a massive tower to the south.

They want to cram 250 units and 300 students – 1,000+ people – onto the site.

London needs new genuinely affordable housing for families and key workers. The current plans don’t comply with Islington’s own planning policies, prioritise overseas students, and will cause substantial harm to the local area. Does SevenCapital even have the financial capacity to take on a project of this scale?

How is the local area going to cope with the strain of more than 1,000 new residents? Local services are already overburdened and key workers such as teachers, nurses, and emergency responders have been priced out of the local area. These plans make this worse.

a smaller, sustainably-minded development would make more sense.
